　　安然創(chuàng)始人病故 終年64歲 Ex-Enron chief Ken Lay dies at age 64

　　肯·萊(Ken Lay) 因心臟病發(fā)作，于昨日凌晨在其位于美國(guó)科羅拉州的度假別墅去世，終年64歲。今年5月，他被判在安然(Enron)破產(chǎn)案中犯有欺詐和同謀罪，面臨在監(jiān)獄中度過(guò)余生的前景。

　　Ken Lay, convicted in May of fraud and conspiracy over the collapse of Enron and facing the prospect of spending his last years in jail, died early yesterday of an apparent heart attack at his family’s vacation home in Colorado. He was 64.

　　曾被美國(guó)總統(tǒng)布什(George W.?Bush)親切地稱(chēng)為“肯尼男孩”的萊，利用能源行業(yè)解除管制之機(jī)，把安然從一家毫無(wú)生氣的天然氣管道公司打造成90年代新經(jīng)濟(jì)的標(biāo)志，成為了一家交易商，交易范圍從石油天然氣期貨到天氣衍生產(chǎn)品，無(wú)所不包。

　　Once affectionately called “Kenny Boy” by George W.?Bush, US president, Mr Lay built Enron, a sleepy natural gas pipeline company, into a symbol of the 1990s’ new economy, embracing energy deregulation and becoming a trader of everything from oil and gas futures to weather derivatives.

　　萊的死亡意味著，導(dǎo)致安然公司災(zāi)難性毀滅的整個(gè)內(nèi)幕，也許永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)為人所知。

　　Mr Lay’s death means the full inside story of Enron’s catastrophic fall may never be known.
