　　An American woman has become the first in the world to receive a bionic arm that allows her to move the limb by the power of thought.

　　Claudia Mitchell, 26, lost her arm in a motorcycle crash.

　　Doctors re-routed nerves from her brain into the artificial limb via electrodes, and it is now said to operate as a normal human arm - and could even restore her sense of touch.

　　The former US Marine says the robotic arm, which weighs 5kg, has changed her life.

　　It is hoped hundreds of American soldiers who have lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan will benefit from the revolutionary treatment.
