　　篇一 伊索寓言守財(cái)奴

　　原文： A Miser, to make sure of his property, sold all that he had had converted it into a great lump of gold, which he hid in a hole in the ground, and went continually to visit and inspect it. This roused the curiosity of one of his workmen, who, suspecting that there was a treasure, when his master's back was turned went to the spot and stole it away. When the Miser returned and found the place empty, he wept and tore his hair. But a neighbor who saw him in this extravagant grief, and learned the cause of it, said: "Fret thyself no longer, but take a stone and put it in the same place, and think that it is your lump of gold; for, as you never meant to use it, the one will do you as much gold as the other." The worth of money is not in its possession, but in its use.

　　譯文： 一個(gè)守財(cái)奴，為了確保他的財(cái)產(chǎn)，賣掉所有家當(dāng)換成了一大塊金子，埋在一個(gè)地洞里，并且不時(shí)地去查看，這引起了手下一個(gè)雇工的.好奇。雇工猜測(cè)那里肯定有寶貝，趁主人離開之際，他來到埋藏地點(diǎn)，把金子偷走了。當(dāng)守財(cái)奴回來發(fā)現(xiàn)金子不翼而飛，便痛哭流涕，亂撮頭發(fā)。一個(gè)鄰人見狀問明原由后說“你也別太痛苦了，拿一塊石頭再埋在原地，就當(dāng)是那塊金子好了，因?yàn)榧热荒阌肋h(yuǎn)不想用它，那么兩者不是一回事嗎”。 金錢的價(jià)值不在于擁有，而在于使用。

　　篇二 伊索寓言：戀愛中的獅子（The lion in love）

　　A lion once fell in love with a beautiful girl, so he went to her parents and asked them to marry her to him.

　　The old parents did not know what to say.

　　They did not like the idea of giving their daughter to the lion, but they did not want to enrage the king of beasts.

　　At last the father said, "We are glad to marry our daughter to you, but we fear that you might possibly hurt her. So if you remove your claws and teeth, we will give her to you."

　　The lion loved the girl very much, so he trimmed his claws and took out his big teeth. When he came to the parents again, they simply laughed in his face, and beat him out of their house.

　　篇三  伊索預(yù)言：戀愛中的獅子

　　●一只獅子愛上了一位美麗的女孩兒，便找到她的父母向她求婚。

　　●女孩兒的`父親不知道該如何回答，他不忍將女兒許配給野獸，但又害怕激怒這獸中之王。

　　●于是父親說：“我們很樂意將女兒嫁給你，但又怕你不小心傷害她，如果你拔去牙齒，剁掉利爪，我們就將女兒嫁給你。”

　　●獅子非常愛這個(gè)女孩兒，于是他修剪了爪子，拔掉了尖牙后又去找女孩的父母。可是這時(shí)，他們嘲笑他，并把他趕了出去。

　　寓意: 有些人輕易相信別人的話，拋棄自己的長(zhǎng)處，結(jié)果輕而易舉地被原來害怕他們的人擊敗了。

　　伊索寓言：龜兔賽跑（The hare and the tortoise）

　　The hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never been beaten," he said, "when I run at full speed, no one is faster than me."

　　The tortoise said quietly, "I will race with you." "That is a good joke," said the hare. "I could dance around you the whole way."

　　The race started. The hare darted almost out of sight at once. He soon stopped and lay down to have a nap.

　　The tortoise plodded on and on. When the hare awoke from his nap, he saw the tortoise was near the finish line, and that he had lost the race.

　　篇四 伊索寓言：狐貍和葡萄

　　原文： A Fox, just at the time of the vintage, stole into a vine-yard where the ripe sunny Grapes were trellised up on high in most tempting show. He made many a spring and a jump after the luscious prize, but, failing in all his attempts, he muttered as he retreated："Well what does it matter! The Grapes are sour!"

　　譯文： 正當(dāng)葡萄熟了的時(shí)候，一只狐貍偷偷地溜進(jìn)了葡萄園。葡萄架上高高地掛著亮晶晶的、熟透了的葡萄，顯得十分誘人。他跳了好幾跳，蹦了好幾蹦，想吃到這甘美的葡萄，但是他的企圖全落空了，走開的.時(shí)候，他自言自語說："得了！這有什么！這葡萄是酸的。"

　　篇五 伊索寓言狐貍和山羊

　　原文： A fox had fallen into a well, and had been casting about for a long time how he should get out again, when at length a goat came to the place, and wanting to drink, asked Reynard whether the water was good, and of there was plenty of it .The fox, dissembling the real danger of his case, replied :"come down, my friend, the water is so good that I can not drink enough of it, and so aboundant that it can not be exhausted ."Upon this the goat without any more ado leaped in, when the fox, taking advantage of his friend's horns, as nimbly leaped out, and coolly remarked to the poor deluded goat :"if you had half as much brains as you have beard, you would have looked before you leaped."

　　譯文： 一只狐貍掉在一口井里，轉(zhuǎn)了很久怎樣再跳上去，最后一只山羊來到這里，他正想喝水，便問狐貍這水好不好，還多不多，狐貍掩飾起他的真實(shí)危險(xiǎn)處境，回答說："下來吧，我的朋友，這水好得使我喝不夠，而且多的用不完。"于是山羊立刻跳了井里，狐貍踩著他朋友的角，敏捷地跳了上去，并且冷淡地對(duì)受了騙的可憐的山羊說："如果你的.腦子有你胡子一半多，你就會(huì)先思而后行了。"
