青蛙求王的寓言故事

　　因為缺少一個統領者，青蛙們大為不悅。于是，他們派了一個代表去拜見朱庇特，請求賜給他們一個國王。朱庇特不屑于他們如此愚蠢的請求，便將一根木頭扔到青蛙居住的池塘中，并且說這就是他們的國王。剛聽到木頭落下的聲音時，青蛙們都嚇了一大跳，紛紛潛入池塘深處；沒過多久，當他們發現木頭依舊靜止在那里時，一個接一個地又游出水面來；不久之后，他們愈發大膽了，發現木頭沒什么了不起的，甚至于爬上木塊，坐在它的上面。他們認為這樣一個國王簡直是對自己尊嚴的侮辱，于是又去求見朱庇特，請求把賜予他們的這個木頭疙瘩拿走，再換一個更好的國王。朱庇特對此十分生氣，便派了一只鸛去管制青蛙。結果，鸛一來到池塘里，便開始全力逮吃青蛙。
